All-age Harvest service

23rd September 2018 @ 10:30 am - 12:00 pm

Perhaps you haven’t been to any church services for ages, but at this time of year, when you are aware of harvest (if only because you get stuck behind more tractors than normal on the roads!) you feel gratitude for the variety and abundance of food that many of us enjoy in this country.  Whom do you thank?!  How do you share with others?
How long is it since you sang any traditional harvest songs that you enjoy?!

Join us to thank God for his creation and for food in particular!
If you are able to, then there will be the opportunity to bring some of the items below to donate to Gloucester City Mission which does such great work among vulnerable people in the city:

Food – tins: baked beans, rice pudding, soup (various flavours), corned beef

non tins – pot noodles, mug shots, squash, bottled water, fruit juice cartons

non food – men’s boxer shorts, males and female deodorants (small travel size)

And after the service, we’ll be having a picnic together in Heron School grounds/hall. Tea, coffee & squash provided – but please bring your own picnic (and blanket if you’d like to sit outside).

Everyone welcome!

There will be a creche area available but Abbey Church is made up of people of all ages, including many families, and on Sundays when children are together with the adults, we are quite used to a bit of noise!

Please contact office@abbeychurch.net or telephone 07788 110602 if you would like more information.
