Information and Prayer evening: Persecution of Christians – why it is getting worse everywhere

18th November 2018 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm

Dr Ronald Boyd-Macmillan, Director of Strategic Research for Open Doors International will be helping us to understand more about persecution of Christians worldwide so that we are better equipped to pray and help our brothers and sisters.

All welcome to this joint event of Abbey Church and Trinity Baptist Church.

Dr Ronald Boyd-Macmillan, currently the Director of Strategic Research for Open Doors International, the world’s largest organization assisting persecuted Christians in over sixty countries, is Professor of Practical Theology and Persecution Studies at the Lahore College of Theology, in Pakistan.

He has enjoyed contrasting careers as a Bible smuggler in Cold War Eastern Europe, a pastor in Bristol, England, a journalist in Hong Kong, and a trainer of underground preachers in China, and as a President of a speech tuition agency for senior bankers and business leaders.   He has over 30 years experience of ministering among persecuted Christians on five continents.

He is also the founding President and CEO of a speech tuition agency for CEO’s and other public figures  called Points-A-Cross Ltd, and has written a book for preachers entitled, Explosive Preaching – Letters on How to Detonate the Gospel in the 21st Century (Paternoster Press, 2006).  He also holds a Ph.D. in Practical Theology from the University of Aberdeen, and is a world expert on the sermons of St. Augustine – a topic on which you must never ask about or you will never get away from him. He has just published a third book entitled, The Heart is a Noisy Room: Your Inner Voices, why they matter- and how to win them over! (Hodder & Stoughton: 2018).

All welcome
