For Men

We recognise that the Bible says that men and women are created equal before God, yet they are distinct, physically, emotionally and socially, fulfilling equally important but distinct roles.  This is why at Abbey there are activities ‘just for men’ (see also ‘Just for women’) so that they best serve the family at Abbey in a way that teaches and builds relationships according to their sex.

Weekends Away

Since 2011 we have had our own Men’s Weekend Away.  This has been essentially a time where we can chat about men’s stuff (not just football) and learn from the Bible together, the aim being to grow both in fellowship and understanding together.  At the same time as exercising our heart and mind it’s also a time to for exercising our muscles.  In recent years we have stayed in the Brecon Beacons, which has involved ‘climbing’ Pen-Y-Fan and exploring the beautiful Waterfalls Walk.

Small Group Studies

Fancy some breakfast to fuel an early start and a good dig into the Bible?  There are a few men who put aside a couple of hours  from 8am on the first Saturday morning of the month to study together in our local Morrisons’ Cafe.  Though we may meet once a month we keep in contact via our Facebook page, but of course, we do speak to each other at other times as well!
