That was fun – HAF sessions!

That was fun – HAF sessions!

Abbey Church Neighbourhood Chaplains and the volunteers on the Eatwell Wagon were glad to see the planning and preparation come to fruition for our 2 HAF sessions on 6 and 8 August in Glevum Open Space/Abbeydale Community Centre.

Families made the most of the sunny weather on Tuesday to take part in

– archery with Ashraf and Fazel

– football with Little Monsters Rugby

– exciting arts-and-crafts with MAD about Art, Rusell & Lisa and Carmen of Glos Wildlife Trust

– reading and a discovery trail with Linda and other Read With Me volunteers

– card-making and rocket-making and launching with our Neighbourhood Chaplains

Setting up the rocket ready to launch

– enjoying the baby and toddler toys

and of course eating delicious hot pasta / cold wraps (with a fantastic choice of fillings) and refreshing fruit from the Eatwell Wagon.

On Thursday, in the on-off gusty rain showers, intrepid volunteers still welcomed those who wanted to launch rockets and play football, and we were glad to be able to hire 2 rooms in the Abbeydale Community Centre to make space for a range of crafts and baby-and-toddler play area as well as eating another delicious meal from the Eatwell Wagon.
